Sides Pulled Back with Twist

I first back combed the crown of her head.  Then take a small amount of hair from the front of her head and twist it.  Do this to both sides and secure with an elastic.

Toddler Sides pulled up

Since my toddlers hair is still short I pulled back a small ponytail of bangs so the hair would stay back all day.  Then I took the sides and pulled them back and secured it with an elastic.
I flipped the bottom up and then curled the rest of her hair under to give her some volume.  I also back combed just under the ponytail.
    Below is a side view.

Little Girl's Hairstyles - Hairbow Do 10-15 min

Be sure to check out my giveaway below this post!! It's just for you Moms!!

This hairbow do is a work in progress. It's definitely NOT perfected. That is why you'll see a collage of pictures here, from different attempts to get this down. Some days it worked, some days it didn't. I tried it with ribbons and without. But all in all, it's something different to do! Here's my best (and first-go figure) version:
Begin (if you dare!) with a ponytail in the back.
Split the ponytail into two equal sections.
Think of tying shoelaces here. Oh, and ignore the ribbon.
    Do your first bunny ear,
    and wrap it around
    and pull it through.
Next, to secure your lovely hairbow, take clear elastics and wrap them on either side of the center piece of hair. First on this side:
And then on this side. The trick is to not pull the hair out of the loop when doing this.
If you end up with these pesky tails hanging out (yep, switched ribbon),
Simply pin them up underneath with some of those fabulous mini pins or a regular bobby pin.
And another reasonable job. Ribbon intact.
Don't worry if this takes you 4, 5, or even 6 times, like it does me. All hairdos are a creation, and they always turn out different. That is why it's fun to do hair, right!?

Nothing Fancy but Cute Toddler

My toddler has the straightest hair so in order to get this look I first blow dried it.  Then I took a small curling iron and flipped the bottom up and then curled the top downward.  To give it a little body I back combed the top.

Little Girl's Hairstyles --WELCOME WELCOME!!!

Welcome my Secret's In The Sauce friends!!

Here's a little poem to introduce you to my wee blog and to explain why I do what I do. In honor of all you mothers with little girls:

    Coil and hiss--writhe and twist--
    (Your) hairdo won't get done.
    'Cause one hair's hissing, "Ponytail,"
    And one yells, "Simple Bun."
    One whispers, "Cornrows,"
    One screams, "Bangs."
One shouts, "Just wash and dry it."
One snaps, "No , curl and tie it,"
One hollers, "Bleach and dye it."
And how am I to fix (your) hair
If (your) hair will not keep quiet?

    Shel Silverstein "Medusa"

I'm so excited to be on SITS today! I became a regular visitor to SITS shortly after I started up my blog. I have met many friends through their fabulous site, and it has been a spectacular source of helpful tips and advice!
Here's a few tidbits about what SITS and my blog have in common:

N: I can show you how to stuff that hair IN to a stuffed bun. Also, I answer questions about how to keep that hairdo IN your little girl's hair!

HE: This hairdo is THE easiest, and this one is one of THE cutest!

Little Girl's Hairstyles - Side Puffy Braid with Twist Braid 10-15 min

I saw this style on "So You Think You Can Dance" last season, and have been filing it away. This is a great one for your girls who have short hair, since you can modify the twist braid on the side into just another ponytail. Puffy braids are always super for short hair, especially since there's so much variety when doing them. (This also works great for long hair too!)
I started with a side part in the front to the crown, and then combed back the rest of her hair and clipped it off so it wouldn't get pulled in to any of the puffy braids. And of course, her hair is damp!
On the larger side of the part, I made two small ponytails, about an inch wide and deep.
The next section down, I made three ponytail sections, splitting the first two in half and joining them in the middle.
On the next row, I did two ponytails again, making the same size as the first row, and split the middle ponytail again and joined them.
Once I got to this point, I resprayed the hair remaining, prepping it for a twist braid. This is where you can rejoin the two ponytails into just one, if you have shorter hair to work with, or leave it. Do whatever you think looks best according to the hair you have left.
I decided to do a twist braid with the two remaining sections.
I round brushed the back of her hair.
And she's done! Be sure to check back tomorrow! It's my day to be SITS!!! Hurray!!

Poof and 2 Rolls

Start by making a poof that goes towards the right side.  I secured it with bobbie pins

Next I made 2 small rolls on the left side going the same direction as the poof.

Then make 2 small rolls on the right side.  I secured these with bobbie pins too.
Below is just a picture of the top of her head.
