IN REVIEW: Miss. Jessie's Super Sweetback Treatment

So, I finally got my hands on Miss. Jessie's Super Sweetback Treatment. I had NO CLUE that they would start selling this on the ground, at Target. I have been wanting to try it for months now but the shipping charges online have always deterred me from going through with my order. Yay, for Target! I am so glad that they are selling products geared toward us natural hair gals!

Click the jump for an in depth look on my NEW LOVE for this product.

Ingredients: water, behentrimonium methosulfate and cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, cyclomethicone and dimethiconol, lauryl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, cyclopentasiloxane, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), fragrance, dimethicone, DMDM hydantoin and iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, ceteareth-20, hydroxethylcellulose, hydrolyzed soy protein, liposome (centella asiatica), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, EDTA disodium, tocopheryl acetate, mangifera indica (mango) seeed butter, D&C red #33, citric acid (Glycerin Free and Paraben Free)

My Experience: After my less than pleasant run in with Shea Moisture's Curling Souffle, I was dying to get home and wash my hair. I actually forgot all about my MJSST until it was time to jump in the shower and wash my hair. I figured my hair needed a good deep condition so why not try it. My first impression of the product was a good one. I opened the jar and saw pink, that was a plus from the jump. Everything pink makes me happy, LOL! Also, the scent was decent. It smells a lot like cherries and bananas. Odd combination but yea, there's definitely some fruity smells going on, which I didn't mind. After checking out the smell, I put it to the side, washed my hair and then parted in 4 sections to prepare for the product application. I instantly fell in love with the thick and smooth texture of MJSST. Talk about a product with SLIP, amazing! My hair literally soaked this stuff up. I really needed a good DC treatment, my hair was feeling kind of dry. Once it was all detangled and rinsed out, my strands felt so replenished and moisturized, I started to question why I waited THIS long to add this product to my arsenal.

Hair with Miss. Jessie's Super Sweetback Treatment in.

Overall: I love this product. My hair felt amazing during and after the application. The scent is decent, the consistency is to die for and the slip provided is awesome. My thick and coily type 4 hair thanked me for the is deep treatment. I really thought people who told me such great things about this product were exaggerating but I must say, I can see what all the fuss was about. Miss. Jessie's Super Sweetback treatment is definitely a great product and once I run out, I will be sprinting back over to Target to stock up.

Have you tried MJSST? If so, how did you and your curlies like it?

    xoxo,
    Alex
